Combat Counters
Sekiro Mikiri Counter
The Mikiri Counter from Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice rewards precise timing over memorization. Here's how it works and how to land it more consistently.
How it works
A defensive technique that lets the player step into a thrust attack and stomp it down, breaking the enemy's posture significantly when timed correctly.
- Watch for the distinct low, forward-lunging animation that signals a thrust rather than a sweeping or overhead attack.
- Press the deflect and jump inputs together right as the thrust connects, rather than early.
- Successfully countering a thrust does heavy posture damage, often creating an opening for a follow-up attack.
