What this covers

This policy explains what happens to information when you use Edward Cromarty (edwardcromarty.com). We've tried to write it in plain language rather than dense legal text.

The tools run in your browser

The word, character, click and tally counters on this site do all of their counting locally in your browser using JavaScript. Text you type or paste into a counter tool is not transmitted to our servers, stored, or logged anywhere. Closing or refreshing the page clears it.

Some tools use your browser's session storage to remember a running count (for example, a click counter) so the number doesn't reset if you accidentally scroll or resize the page. This data stays on your device and is cleared when you close the browser tab.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful and which aren't, such as aggregate page-view counts. This does not include the content of anything you type into a tool.

Cookies

This site does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Any cookies that are set are limited to basic site functionality.

Third-party links

Some pages link to external sites (for example, official game or card publisher pages). We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to, and we'd encourage you to review their policies separately.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
